Blast from the Past

In the late fall of 1989, a group of us who lived in the house on 294 S. Lumpkin were feeling a little mischievous.  It was late one week night around midnight, and one of our brothers made a phone call to some SAE pledges and, in a disguised and mad voice, told them they better get over to the KA House and paint the cannon. (The SAE pledges thought the call was coming from an older SAE brother).  So, the scared pledges piled into a station wagon (it was about six of them) and came to the KA house with cans of paint and brushes to vandalize our cannon.  Wow, were those SAE pledges in for the surprise of their short college lives.  About ten of us were hiding in the front yard of the KA House.  We had a garden hose and some other stuff that I wont mention.  As soon as those SAE pledges stepped in to our yard and walked close to the cannon, we let them have it.  We hit them with all kinds of stuff. They were TERRIFIED.  They had no idea that we would be waiting to ambush them.  They, to this day, do not know how we were so ready for them.  It was a great night and a great memory.  KA brothers that may have been involved that night include Brother Paul Jorgenson, Brother Patrick Hobson, Brother Jodie Black, Brother Bill Mathis, Brother Seth Sergeant, Brother John Davis, possibly President Marcus Simmons, and maybe Yours Truly.
